These bevel gears are commonly used in gearboxes and differentials, to transmit power between intersecting shafts, typically at a right angle. Available in a range of tooth counts and ratios to suit different speed and torque requirements, with straight and spiral tooth forms available. Correct backlash setting during installation is important, as too little can cause binding while too much leads to noise and impact loading.
