Colin Furze - Engineering Without Limits
Meet Colin Furze
Colin Furze's journey into making and inventing began long before YouTube. After leaving school at 16, he started a plumbing apprenticeship while continuing to experiment, build and film projects in his spare time.
What began with filming BMX rides and homemade creations soon grew into increasingly ambitious engineering projects and inventions, eventually reaching millions of viewers worldwide.
Today, Colin Furze is one of the UK's best-known inventors and engineering creators, designing and building everything from unusual vehicles and record-breaking machines to his famous underground bunker and tunnel system. His videos take viewers behind the scenes of each build, showing the fabrication, problem-solving, testing and occasional setbacks involved in turning ambitious ideas into working creations.
The MAGNET Suspension SKATEBOARDWatch Video HereColin takes on the challenge of creating a magnet-suspension skateboard, using clever engineering and magnetic forces to rethink the traditional skateboard design. The project combines fabrication, experimentation and mechanical problem-solving to create a unique ride inspired by the idea of a real-life hoverboard.
SECRET Garage Car Lift Part 1Watch Video HereColin begins work on an ambitious custom car lift for his secret underground garage, designing and fabricating the mechanical system needed to move vehicles between ground level and the space below. The build combines clever engineering, heavy fabrication and plenty of problem-solving to bring another huge part of the underground garage project to life.
How I Made My 2025 Secret Santa's year THE BESTWatch Video HereColin puts his engineering skills to work on a brilliantly unconventional Christmas creation, designing and building a custom toilet paper launcher. Combining fabrication, mechanical problem-solving and plenty of experimentation, the project turns a fun idea into another fully working Furze invention.
From Idea to Invention
Part of what makes Colin Furze's engineering projects so engaging is watching an ambitious idea develop from an initial concept into a fully working creation.
His videos go far beyond the finished result, taking viewers through the fabrication, mechanical challenges, testing, modifications and problem-solving involved in bringing each project to life.
Welding, machining, fabrication and mechanical engineering all play a part, combining practical skills with unconventional ideas to create machines, vehicles and structures unlike anything you'd normally find in a workshop.
This hands-on approach to engineering, inventing, and problem-solving makes Colin Furze and Simply Bearings such a natural fit.

Engineering Without Limits
Whether it's a record-breaking vehicle, an underground tunnel or a completely original mechanical invention, Colin Furze's projects show what can happen when practical engineering, creativity and an ambitious idea come together.
Behind these larger creations are the bearings, shafts, power transmission products and other engineering components that help keep individual parts rotating, moving and working together.
From supporting movement and reducing friction to transferring power between components, even the most ambitious engineering projects depend on the smaller parts doing their job.
Even the biggest ideas rely on the right components.
Simply Bearings & Colin Furze
Ambitious engineering projects rely on smaller components working just as well as the big ideas behind them.
Simply Bearings is proud to sponsor Colin Furze, supplying bearings and engineering components to support his builds and help turn creative concepts into working creations.
From bearings and power transmission products to components for custom moving assemblies, our extensive range gives makers, engineers and inventors access to the parts they need for projects of all shapes and sizes.
Our support for Colin goes beyond supplying components. His hands-on approach reflects something we strongly believe in, encouraging practical engineering, creativity, experimentation and inspiring more people to get involved in making and building.
